My Birthday Wish List

My Birthday Wish List

This is just an idea of what I would like for my birthday this year. I know it is only in a few months time but I would LOVE to get these amazing items. Hopefully once I have finished saving up my money for my overseas trip I'll be able to spoil myself a little and splurge on a few things I've been wanting for a quite a while. Unfortunately majority of these items I can not purchase in South Africa and by the time I go overseas it will be gone.

Farm House

Wearing: Shirt - Forever New / Jumper - Old Khaki / Jeans - Sissy Boy / Shoes - Woolworths

Finally exams are finished but the stress still continues with orals and projects due this week. The only thing keeping me going is that I am on holiday in two weeks time. Hopefully, you shall be seeing more of me in the next few weeks.

This weekend my family all came to my aunts farm house to celebrate my dad, my uncle and my cousin's birthday, which all happened in the space of 3 days. Woah. The farmhouse is actually our family farm house that my gran grew up in as a child but moved out as a teenager. Out of pure coincidence my Aunt and Uncle, who are artists, were looking for a house to buy and bought this farm house. Once taking my gran to see the farm house, my gran realised it was the same house she grew up in. Her childhood toys were even still in the attic. For me this is hard to wrap my head around.

This house is the meeting place of our family on all special days such as birthdays, Christmas, Easter and family gatherings. This place holds some of my fondest childhood memories. I love the authenticity of the farm house and the African theme my aunt and uncle tried to maintain. I hope to have many more returns to this farm house.

New In: Winter Essentials

Recently I have been sorting out my closet and I realised I was missing some serious winter essentials. Now not wanting to bore you with the usual long sleeve tops and leggings I decided to show you the exciting new winter pieces I was lucky to obtain.

1) The Winter Boot

If you are looking for a classic winter boot, go check out Woolworths! I always seem to find myself buying my most comfortable shoes from Woolworths. This boot in particular doesn't have a super high heel so I find I am able to walk around in it for a very long time. This boots is also very versatile as I am able to style if with many items from my closet.

2) Candles

Now I guess this is quite a strange winter essential but these gardenia scented candles from Mr Price Home spell magnificent when burning in my room. I know for sure that they will be burning constantly in my room this winter. Giving the room a relaxing romantic feeling.

3) Avon Lipstick

I recently tried out this lipstick from Avon and fell instantly in love! I am normally not the type for lipsticks as I can never find a shade that suits me. But once trying this lipstick I knew this was the one for me. It is a nude colour with a slight shimmer of lilac in it, hence the name Lilac Shimmer. If any of you read my 25 facts about me you would know lilac is my favourite colour therefore this lipstick has killed two birds with one stone!

4) Avon Cream to Powder Foundation

I have always been looking for the perfect foundation and this one by Avon has certainly reached that category. One of my friends commented that my skin looked airbrushed when wearing it. I told her where I got it from and she instantly ordered one in her shade. I highly recommend you to try it out and I would love to hear your responses about it!

5) Old Khaki Jersey

I absolutely love this jersey and wish they made these in different colours. This jersey suits everything especially collared shirts due to its high neck line.

6) Woolworths Tartan Leggings

These leggings from afar looking like they have tartan pattern on them. They made a seemingly average outfit suddenly pop and stand out due to its unique pattern. They are just like normal leggings and are super comfortable. They look great tucked into a pair of Chelsea Boots or winter boots.

Hopefully this has given you some ideas towards your winter closet. I shall try style these pieces for you soon. So stay tuned!

I would love it if you could follow me on Bloglovin'!

Winter Trend: The "Men's" Coat

Winter in nearly here in South Africa, the air is getting colder, more rain and the North West is starting to howl. Us girls need to dust off our winter coats and jackets and start to put on those layers. Why not better do it in style with over sized tops coat that looks like it can be taken out of your boyfriends closet. Designers such as Stella McCartney and Alexander Wang have incorporated this looks in their designs. Who would want to look like a model wearing the latest trends? This style is not only extremely warm but it brings the boyish feel and look out in the outfit. To bring back that bit of feminine you can add a colourful scarf or a pair of classy high heels to finish the outfit. Though many fashion bloggers keep to the classic neutral and dark colours paired with leather booths to keep warm.

These European trends will definitely find its way to South Africa this winter.

Where have I been?

I am back! I decided to take a long break from blogging to get my life sorted out. Suddenly things became hectic, I hardly had time to blog, and my life was unorganised and stressful. BUT I am here again. Things are going to change though. Firstly my URL has changed to www.deliriouslyimaginative.blogspot.com. Secondly, I am changing the my style of blog. I have decided to write less about fashion but about my life and everything around it. Hopefully you will like this change.

I have also organised my new work station. Since we have had renovations my room has slowly started coming together. Hopefully soon it will finally be done and I can show you the final outcome. I am so glad to be back and can't wait to start blogging again.

If any one has suggestions what they would like to see me write about feel free to comment and if you have an suggestions how to decorate my desk please help me!

Getting ready for Summer

Summer is on it's way, the temperature is rising, the amount of clothes you wear is less, your skin colour darkens a little and more importantly your wardrobe changes substantially. Now I am not a summer clothes person, I love winter clothes with many scarves and layers where I feel snug and warm. So when it comes to summer I am not the first person to go to for fashion advice, I mostly just wear a pair of shorts and a top and I am sorted. BUT, note the but, I am going to make an effort this summer to change my view of summer clothing and give my little input on what I, Chelsea Moore, believe is suitable for summer. At a later stage I shall show how I style for summer outfits, then put them into more detailed outfit post.

Here are some ideas on what I would like to see in my summer wardrobe:
(DISCLAIMER: These photo's are not mine, I do not own them, if any photo is yours I will be glad to remove it or state who you are.)

Long Flowy Skirts/Dress

Lace Bottoms

Florals

Denim Shorts

Bralets

Sheer Cutoff Sleeves

Converse

That is my summer outfit picks for the up and coming summer!

Job Shadowing Outfit Day 3 : Photography

Wearing: Shirt - Forever New / Bag - Unknown / Jeans - H&M / Heels - Italy / Watch - Italy / Necklace - With attitude.

It was so hot today in Town, I don't know how I survived in jeans and a long shirt. The shirt though surprisingly cooled me down due to its light flowy fabric (I was truly grateful). I find that my red leather bag and blue sheer shirt match quite well as they compliment each other with their contrasting clothes. I never knew I was able to survive the whole day in heel brogues but to my surprise I did and I have to add how comfortable they are. These shoes didn't come cheap but they were worth any penny spent as they are a classic shoe and very comfortable.

Today I went to a photography studio called Pixel Foundry and job shadowed a photographer there. More on that in my NEXT post! Excited for the weekend.

Job Shadowing Outfit Day 1 : Woolworths Food Science Department

Wearing: Bag-Unknown / Chelsea Boots - Italy / Jeans - Legit / Shirt - Forever New / Blazer - ZARA / Jewelry - With Attitude / Watch - Paris
Today I went to Woolworths head office where I job shadowed a Food technologist. I found this very interesting and exciting as I learnt what they did in their job and what it was made of. I tried ("tested") out different types of food (YUM!), sat in on a meeting where they bought me amazing coffee and cake and got shown what they do everyday in their job. This was very enlightening as it taught me many new concepts that I never knew about food. It was truly worth my time. Tomorrow I shall be going to a fish/prawn factory and job shadowing a food technologist there. Got to wear very warm clothes apparently... This shall be interesting.

Due to the job shadowing I had to wear formal yet casual clothing. Why not wear a pair of jeans with a blazer jacket? I paired a classic denim with this ZARA blazer, I personally think think that it suits it really well and is perfect for the work environment. The cream sheer shirt is flowy and comfy and adds a classic sophisticated look to to the outfit. Sorry for keep on wearing the Chelsea Boots but they seems perfect to keep my neat clean cut look. The reddish brown bag I used to keep my notepad and camera in and it added that bit of colour I needed in my outfit. All in all I find this outfit extremely comfortable for the work environment and was extremely happy walking around in it the whole day.
